Name: Crocodile
Geologic Age:
Cretaceous
Stratigraphic detail:
Hell Creek Formation
Location:
Carter County, Montana

Description:  This is a huge group of more than 1000 crocodilian teeth from the Hell Creek! This large group represents all the croc teeth that the collector  collected in the field by carefully processing fossiliferous matrix, over a number of years. They are from Leidyosuchus sternbergi & Brachychampsa montanae, an alligatoroid. The teeth are in great condition overall, with most being complete, or nearly so.  They are all very well preserved & they are all completely natural as found. The largest teeth measure approx. 3/4" in length, & they go down in size to great microteeth!  They were found in upper Cretaceous age deposits, Hell Creek Formation, in Carter County, Montana near Belle Creek.

Description:
Gorgeous ROOTED Crocodile tooth with excellent enamel surfaces and intact tip.  There are several species of Crocodiles found in the Cretaceous Deposits in Morocco.. the most famous being the Sarchosuchus found by Paul Sereno.  These teeth are probably NOT from that species, but from a lesser know group of Crocodiles.  These teeth are interesting, in that they have a distinct curve to both tooth and root.  Very nice!  (Any information on these teeth would be greatly appreciated)
