Name: Odontochile syncramaGeologic Age: DevonianStratigraphic Detail: Bois d' Arc FormationLocation: Coal County, OklahomaDescription: This is an EXTREMELY RARE TRILOBITE from the Devonian of Oklahoma! This specimen measures 1 1/4" long. It was prepared by Master Preparator Scott Vergiels and has no repairs or restoration. This species looks very similar to the Huntonia, however there are very definite differences. The anterior process is shorter and broader. The cephalon is squared slightly on either side of the snout before it goes into the smooth arc back to the genal spines. The genal spines are longer, thinner and narrower than on the Huntonia. The pleurons on the thoracic segments are longer and narrower. The spine on the pygidum is notably shorter. This is a good opportunity to add a RARE bug to your collection!
