This small partially pyritized example of Cryptolithus lorrainenesis may represent one of the best-preserved examples ever found. The trilobite measures 1cm wide at the cephalon and 8mm long. The trilobite is well inflated and near perfect. Just a hint of pyritization gives the trilobite nice definition from the matrix.
The plate is also covered with other trilobite cranidia and crinoid stems.

The trilobite is well inflated and near perfect, save for some compression of the front fringe. Just a hint of pyritization gives the trilobite nice definition from the matrix.
