Name:  Juvenile Columbian Mammoth
Geologic Age: Pleistocene
Location:  Jalisco Mexico
Comments: This is a pristine specimen!   This is a fully rooted tooth in essentially perfect condition.  This tooth is still embedded in a portion of the upper jaw and skull.  The entire specimen is very well preserved, no restoration, no glue.  This is a fine example that shows the honeycomb bone structure of the skull, nature's way of giving the skull strength but also reducing the weight of the massive skull.   It is very rare to get an upper mammoth tooth in bone... even more so a juvenile.. and from Mexico no less!!

1/16" long... incredible!!

Name: Mammuthus primigenious (Juvenile Mammoth Jaw)
Geologic Age: Pleistocene
Stratigraphic detail: Unknown
Location: Europe
Description: This is a lower jaw section from a Juvenile Mammoth.  The jaw was found in 2 sections and has been re-joined at the center of the jaw...  the teeth are very nice and solid in the jaws.  They have never been out of the jaw bone.  This specimen is heavily mineralized and quite stable... it has been sitting in my inventory for the past 5-6 years and has not changed cracked.. this specimen was dried and preserved properly..  The chewing surfaces are very nice with just a bit of wear to the tops of the grinding surfaces.. each tooth measures approx. 6" long.
