Name: Champsosaur
Geologic Age:
Cretaceous
Stratigraphic detail:
Hell Creek Formation
Location:
Carter County, Montana
Description:
This is a group of fossil Champsosaur teeth from the Hell Creek.   Champsosaurus is a long-snouted Diaspid, very crocodilian in it's appearance. The teeth are in very good condition overall, & they cover virtually every size & shape they can be found in. They are very well preserved & they are all completely natural as found. The largest teeth measure approx. 3/8" in length, & they go all the way down to micro sizes.  They were found in upper Cretaceous age deposits, Hell Creek Formation, in Carter County, Montana near Belle Creek.
