Araucaria Elongata Pinecones

Recently, the South American Government began a crack-down on the exportation of fossils from their country.  As a result, the fossils from South America are going to be very difficult to obtain and prices are certain to increase markedly over time.  Now is the opportunity to purchase cones while we still have a small supply of them.

Name: Araucaria elongata
Geologic Age: Jurassic
Stratigraphic detail: Cerro Cuadrado
Location: Patagonia, Argentina
Comments: The Araucaria elongata pinecones are very, very hard to find.  Due to the fact that these cones are found buried in Ash, they are typically much darker in color and the seed definition is typically not as sharp as the mirablis.  Also, the exterior of these cones typically have much flatter, smoother details than the mirablis cones do.  Excellent opportunity to add another species of pinecones to your collection!!   This specimen measures approx.  4" long.

Araucaria Elongata 3 - Price: $250.00
