The specimens on this page
were collected in the early 1950's in the grasslands of South Dakota. All were
collected from ant
hills in late Pleistocene deposits. The fossils are just a few thousand years
old but represent a transition of animal types
from the last glacial stage into the most recent temperate stage. The specimens
are all of a small size, having been
artificially sorted by the ants.
I have several specimens of each type available. Photos are representative of the specimen you will receive.
