Comments: Each of these educational kits contains an iron meteorite, a stone meteorite, impact glass and a tektite, all with color 4" x 5" ID cards.  A magnet is included with each iron meteorite as well.  Great kits for the price!!

Stone Meteorite:  NWA 2857 A typical L4 chondrite showing the mottled grey green interior with fresh metallic flakes.

Nickel Iron Meteorite:  These specimens all come from Argentina and form part of the Campo meteorite fall that occurred between 4,000 and 6,000 years ago. The 'crystals' are fragments of larger masses that exploded in the atmosphere and were torn apart along the plate boundaries of the metallic crystals making up the body of the meteorites.

Indochinite:   These specimens are all from the vast east Asian strew field and represent small fragments (1 to 2 cm) in size. Each is black glass showing the diagnostic surface pitting typical of these tektites.

Irgizites:  These rare specimens of twisted and gnarled impact glass are from the Zhamanshin Crater of Kazakhstan. They can differ greatly in their form compared to Indochinites but are of a very similar black glass. Average size is 1 to 2 cm.
