Location: Kemmerer, WyomingDescription: This stunning plate measures approx. 15" x 22" in size. This plate is from the 18" Layer of the Green River Formation. The preservation of the fish found in the 18" layer is unsurpassed anywhere in the world. These fish have had no paint or other enhancements done to them. Each and every bone, gill plate, eye orbit, fin and scales are original as found. There has only been a clear coat applied to stabilize the fish. This piece is unique in that it has a piece of carbonized wood present which is almost never seen! As an added bonus, both fish are in an upright position and are swimming in opposite directions, looking as if they were swimming around the piece of wood. This lovely specimen has been backed with wood and has a very solid and stable wire hanger affixed so that this is ready to hang in your den or office. Excellent eye appeal that is much better in person.. guaranteed!

The preservation of the split-fish from the horizon just above the 18" capstone is far superior to the upper layers of the Green River formation. These fish have had no paint or other enhancements done to them. Each and every bone, gill plate, eye orbit, fin and scales are original as found. Wonderful Mass-Mortality plate with over 20 fish present. This lovely specimen has been backed with wood and has a very solid and stable wire hanger affixed so that this is ready to hang in your den or office. Location: Kemmerer, WyomingDescription: This incredible plate measures approx. 19 1/2" x 29 1/2" in size. The Dyplomystus measures approx. 7 1/4" long and the Phareodus measures approx. 6 1/2" long. This plate is from the 18" Layer of the Green River Formation. The preservation of the fish found in the 18" layer is unsurpassed anywhere in the world. These fish have had no paint or other enhancements done to them. Each and every bone, gill plate, eye orbit, fin and scales are original as found. There has only been a clear coat applied to stabilize the fish. The beauty of this plate is that contains not only an exquisite Dyplomystus... but it has an incredible Phareodus!! There is an amazing amount of skin still present on this specimen. Look at the teeth... this was a killing machine!!! Both specimens are in an upright position and the Phareodus looks as if it is in a dive to catch an unsuspecting fish just out of sight! This specimen has been placed in a beautiful frame and has a very solid and stable wire hanger affixed so that this is ready to hang in your den or office.
