Name: Triceratops prorsus
Geologic Age: Cretaceous
Stratigraphic detail: Hell Creek Formation
Location: Wibaux County, MontanaDescription: This is an absolutely GIGANTIC NOSE HORN! I have NEVER seen a BIGGER NOSE HORN before!!! This horn stands over 12" tall, is approx. 5 1/2" thick (from side to side), is over 11" at the base and has a circumference of approx. 26" around the base! The bone quality is superb! This is a HEAVILY MINERALIZED specimen! There has been ZERO reconstruction on the specimen... only crack repairs. A portion of one side is missing, as is the very, very tip of the horn.. but if you look at the photos you will see WHY the tip is missing.. there are nice, big, round BITE MARKS present on the front of the horn! The only thing big enough to have made these big tooth marks on the horn would have been a T-Rex! It is quite probable that the owner of this nose horn fell prey to a T-Rex which at some point during the confrontation, BIT the Triceratops on the nose, leaving these tooth marks. Many modern day predators will either grab their prey by the throat (which would have been very impractical given the big protective frill that was present on the ceratopsians) OR they grab them by the nose area to bring them down and suffocate them... This COULD have been what happened to this MONSTER!! Of course.. since none of us were there to witness the attack, we will never know for sure... however, the fact remains that there are some BIG tooth impressions present that would lead one to believe that this was certainly the case... This may be your only chance to own not only the biggest nose horn you are likely to see on the open market.. but the biggest nose horn with probable T-Rex bite marks present!!

Name: Triceratops sp.
Geologic Age: Upper Cretaceous
Stratigraphic detail: Hell Creek Formation
Location: Baker, Montana
Description: Very unusual nose horn from a small type of ceratopsian.. the horn is not cylindrical, but is more flat. I'm just not certain what type it belongs to. Overall a nice specimen.. as seen in photo #2, there is a chunk missing from the back side of the horn.. but displays beautifully from the front side.. would look great in a Riker Mount. RARE horn???Triceratops Nose Horn 2 Price: $550.00
