Tarbosaurus bataar Teeth

Tarbosaurus bataar, lived in Mongolia at the same time that T. rex terrorized North America. The Tarbosaurus are found in the Tsagan-Oola Formation of Mongolia, and are about 70 million years old.

Some paleontologists feel that Tarbosaurus was so closely related to Tyrannosaurus that the two should be placed in the same genus. If this proposal is adopted, then Tarbosaurus would be renamed Tyrannosaurus bataar.

Location: Mongolia, China
Comments: This is a VERY RARE TOOTH!!  It comes from a Tarbosaurus bataar which is Carnivorous Dinosaur from Mongolia.  This tooth is still attached to the block of matrix it was found in.  There have been some repairs, but there has been no reconstruction done to the tooth as evidenced by the matrix filled cracks/gaps present on the tooth that have not had fake enamel painted in!   The root has been repaired/stabilized as it is not attached to the matrix.  Very nice serrations are present... and to make this even better.. this tooth measures right at 3 1/2" long!  This is a very desirable and very important specimen!
