Name: Unknown Sauropod (Rebbachisaurus? Cetiosaurus?)
Geologic Age: Middle Cretaceous
Stratigraphic detail: Baharija Formation
Location: Kem-Kem, Morocco North Africa
Description: This is a very nice, very unusual vertebrae from an UNKNOWN SAUROPOD. This is a CERVICAL vertebrae that was probably located just behind the axis/atlas vertebrae. This specimen was found in the phosphate beds, thus the white coloration. There has been some distortion which is typical for fossils found in the phosphate beds. If you look at how WIDE the Spinous Process and facets are, you can surmise that this would render the head/neck fairly stationary without the ability to freely turn quickly from side to side like a therapod would do... instead the whole neck would need to move in the direction that the dinosaur was looking. Very nice preservation with small areas of patching mainly along the edge of the centrum.. probably less than 5% if that much... Overall a very unusual, very rare specimen! This specimen was shown to several well know dinosaur guys in Tucson and they were stumped as to the species... the source I purchased it from has never seen one like this in all their years of business and buying dinosaur material from the diggers, so DOUBTFUL that it is from a Rebbachisaurus!!! Quite probably from a NEW species of Sauropod!!Unknown Sauropod Vertebrae 1 $1000.00

Name: Sauropod Sp.
Geologic Age: Middle Cretaceous
Stratigraphic detail: Baharija Formation
Location: Kem-Kem, Morocco North Africa
Description: This is a RARE Dermal Ossicle. Some sauropods had bones imbedded within the skin, rather than next to the bones, and these are normally plate-like with a ridge or keel on the outside that gave the bone a distinct appearance. Many titanosaurs have been found with such bones, including Saltasaurus, so it is not too much to suggest that all titanosaurs probably had them. This Ossicle measures just a hair under 2" wide.Unknown Sauropod Ossicle 3 $145.00
