Paronychodon is believed to be a small therapod dinosaur (meat-eater). Not much is known about this species.. These teeth were named by Cope in 1876 and so far, only teeth have been found of this RARE dinosaur.. no skeletal remains have ever been found. These teeth have unique longitudinal ridges that run along the length of the tooth on one side, and a flat surface on the other side. The current thinking is that TRUE Paronychodon teeth have NO serrations and that any other tooth with the same characteristics that HAS serrations are "Dromaeosaurus Morphotypyes" or "Richardoestesia Morphotypes". However at the current time this is still subject to debate and speculation and the name Paronychodon and all it's varieties with and without serrations are still valid amongst the larger population of dinosaur teeth collectors.
