Edmontosaurus Dinosaur Mummy

Return to Index Main Dinosaur Page Questions?

The following specimens are from a partial dinosaur mummy that was discovered several years ago.  The remains were transported to a museum for further prep and study.  After going through the jackets it was found that there wasn't much more mummified/fossilized remains than what is represented on this page, so it has been tucked away in The Palm Beach Museum of Natural History until it was de-accessioned and sold to a private collector in a trade-deal.

The color of the specimen is actually what is seen in the last 2 photographs

This section of the mummy measures approx. 15" x 9" in size.  There are several vertebrae and rib sections as well as what appears to be part of the scapula.  There are also teeth and tendons visible in the matrix.  On the reverse side there are several patches of mummified/fossilized skin present.  This is an awesome example of an honest-to-goodness piece of dinosaur mummy!
