Description:
Yes, this looks just like a fish. The strange thing is that they were not fish at all: they were reptiles like lizards, snakes, and crocodiles. You can easily tell this by looking at the skull and fins. A similar case is known for mammals too: think about dolphins and whales. This is one of the Dorsal Vertebrae from this creature.  A splendidly preserved specimen at that!  Look at the details!  Go out and TRY to find NICE Icthyosaur material on the web.. try and find ANY Icthyosaur material!!  It just isn't out there!  But it's here at indiana9!!!  This specimen  measures 4" wide x 1 3/8" thick!
