LeGrand Crinoids

In 1874, a small "nest" of crinoid fossils was uncovered in the LeGrand Quarry. They were so well preserved that scientists from Iowa, Illinois, New Mexico, Indiana, and Massachusetts visited the site and with the cooperation of the quarry owner they excavated the fossils over a sixteen-year period.  These crinoids are exceptionally rare!!!  Crinoids from LeGrand are some of the most sought-after crinoids in the world!  The specimens offered here are some of the last specimens to have been collected and come from the Lowell Loudon Collection.  They have just recently become available and have been prepared by the best preparators of crinoids in the world.. once they are gone.. the supply is totally exhausted and the only chance of obtaining one for your collection will be to pry it out of another private collection!!
