Deltablastus permicus

This is Deltoblastus permicus from the remote island of Timor Indonesia. Blastoids first appeared in the fossil record during the Ordovician and became extinct at the end of the Permian. This is one of the last types in the long line of blastoid evolution. Permian blastoids are only found in a few places in the world and are highly collectible.
