Name:     Calycoceras terrantence
Geologic Age:     Late Cretaceous
Stratigraphic detail:   Woodbine Formation
Location:     Tarrant County, Texas
Comments:  This fully inflated, mustard-orange colored 8" ammonite with very prominent ridges features naturally occurring decorative calcite veins still attached.  These calcite formations were part of the matrix and were left intact during the preparation.  The result is a beautiful and uniquely ornamented ammonite.  The ammonite plus matrix measures 8 1/2" x 10" x 5".  It was found in the Cretaceous Woodbine Formation, Tarrant Co., TX.  There has been no repair or restoration.
