This specimen comes from the edge or the keel of the ammonite. The gem layer is very thick and flashy.. all colors of the rainbow are represented in this beauty.. Measuring in at approx. 8 5/8" long, this specimen sits flat and would make the perfect display specimen for your desk, mantle or display shelf. This specimen has not been capped, topped or sprayed. It is the actual gem layer that has been hand polished to preserve and bring out the natural beauty of the gem stone... They don't get much better than this one.
