Location: Antsiranana, Madagascar
Each of these specimens are a premium-quality hand-polished amber specimen from the Antsiranana region on the Island of Madagascar. They date to the Pliocene Period and are approximately 2 million years old. Technically these are copal which is an unfamiliar term to most people, and so I use the more familiar term amber. The term copal describes resinous substances in an intermediate stage of polymerization and hardening between "gummier" resins and amber.
